Frequently asked.
Do I need administrator rights?
No. The Hypnotika TranceDeck installer installs only for your user account — without administrator rights and without system-wide changes. Double-click the installer, done — a desktop shortcut is created automatically.
Will my antivirus warn?
Yes, that's normal. Windows SmartScreen blocks every new unsigned app by default until it reaches ~15,000 safe downloads — that's not a security issue, just reputation (Microsoft doesn't know the app yet). Code-signing certificates cost €300-700/year and Microsoft removed the automatic reputation boost even for expensive EV certificates in 2024 — so we go the cheaper route via clear instructions.
How to start the app in 2 clicks: step-by-step instructions with screenshots in the Getting Started help → SmartScreen section. The installer needs no admin rights and makes no system-wide changes — Hypnotika installs only into your user profile and can be removed any time without residue.
How do I back up my tracks and settings?
Tracks live in %APPDATA%\Hypnotika TranceDeck\tracks\. Settings and presets in the app's localStorage (clearable via factory reset). An explicit Export/Import function is coming in 0.2.
Does it work on an old Windows 7 machine?
No. Electron 33 (our foundation) only supports Windows 10 build 19041+ and Windows 11. On Win 7/8 the app won't start.
Can I use multiple audio outputs at once?
Yes: a primary output (e.g. studio headphones for you) and a secondary output (e.g. VB-Cable for Zoom transmission). Configurable in Settings → Audio. Three or more parallel routings aren't directly supported — for that we recommend VoiceMeeter Banana (free).
Does the app share data with us or with third parties?
No. Zero telemetry, zero tracking. Only network activity: one GET request per day for the update check (can be turned off) plus the one-time licence activation request. Details in our privacy policy.
What does Hypnotika TranceDeck cost?
Three packages: yearly licence for one device €99 (12 months), lifetime licence for one device €149 (forever), practice licence for three devices €249 (forever, intro price until 31 August 2026: €199). Lifetime and Practice are real one-off purchases, Yearly expires after 12 months — no auto-renew, no subscription. All updates within this version are included. Details on the download page.
What happens to my settings and tracks during an update?
Everything is preserved automatically. Your settings, presets, history, imported tracks and already-recorded sessions are not touched during an update.
That's because the app stores your data separately from its program folder — in a Windows system folder called %APPDATA%\Hypnotika TranceDeck\. The new update only overwrites the program files (the .exe and a few resources), not your data.
Does Hypnotika support Zoom sessions?
Yes, via a virtual audio router like VB-Cable. See the Zoom guide.
