Nature Sounds — Hypnotika TranceDeck

1 · What the second layer does

Nature sounds are a separate audio layer running in parallel with the music — like a second deck on a DJ setup. The ambience keeps playing constantly, no matter which phase is active or how often the music changes.

Never gives way to your voice: Unlike the music, the nature layer is not ducked while you speak — the ocean keeps rolling at constant level under your voice.
Own level: The NATURE slider controls only this layer, independent of the music slider.
Captured in the recording: The session MP3 includes the nature sounds at the level you set.

2 · Prerequisite — and where the row lives

The nature row only appears in the cockpit when your library contains tracks of kind "Nature". The bundled nature sounds are enough — with no nature tracks at all, the row stays hidden.

The row sits directly below the phase buttons and is collapsed by default: the arrow next to the heading shows the state (▶ = collapsed, ▼ = open), and a click on the heading toggles it. Hypnotika remembers your choice permanently — even across app restarts. While collapsed, a green badge shows the name of the currently playing ambience, so you never lose track.

3 · The five tiles

Five nature tiles in the same design as the phase buttons — five under five, symmetrical. Without any setup, Hypnotika auto-assigns the tiles to the first five nature tracks in your library — usable right away.

To reassign: click the edit pencil (✎) on a tile → pick a sound from the list. Only tracks of kind "Nature" appear in the picker.

4 · Start, switch, fade out

Start: Click a tile and its ambience fades in softly.
Switch: Click a different tile and the two ambiences cross-fade gently (~4 sec) — forest → ocean, no hard cut. The music simply keeps playing, uninterrupted.
Fade out: Click the currently active tile and the ambience fades out softly (~3 sec). No extra control needed — the active tile itself handles the fade-out.

Good to know: Clicking a nature tile starts a full session — the timer runs, and the MP3 recording starts (if enabled). That works even without any music: nature-only sessions are possible.

Also: Fading the ambience out via tile click does not end the session. The timer keeps ticking visibly, and a running recording keeps recording — useful for spoken passages without any soundscape. Only Soft Stop ends the session.

5 · Own level: the NATURE slider

In the top bar, next to MIC and MUSIC, sits the third slider: NATURE. It affects only the nature-sound layer — independent of the music slider — and shows the set value in dB. The level also applies to the recording: what you hear is what lands in the MP3.

6 · Behaviour during the session

Never ducked: While you speak, only the music makes room for your voice — the nature sounds stay at constant level.
Part of the MP3: The layer is included in the session recording.
Soft Stop fades it out: Soft Stop (Space) fades nature sounds and music out together — and only Soft Stop stops the timer and saves the MP3.
