OBS software for hypnosis streaming and online workshops

OBS Studio has been the standard for streaming and professional video recording for years — free, open source, cross-platform. For hypnosis coaches it opens a new market: YouTube education videos with professional sound, live streams for online workshops with 10-50 participants, high-quality tutorials. This article shows how to combine OBS with Hypnotika, which platforms are worthwhile, and the first steps.

What OBS Studio is

OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) is the most-used streaming and recording software overall. Free, open source, runs on Windows, macOS, Linux. With it you can: live-stream to YouTube/Twitch/own site, create high-quality video recordings for tutorials, mix multiple audio and video sources, switch "scenes" (cockpit view / talking head / slide presentation).

Use cases for hypnosis coaches

1. Education videos for YouTube: tutorial series "How a hypnosis session is structured", with cockpit visualisation as visual aid. Long-tail SEO, authority building.
2. Live workshops: 60-90 min online workshops for 10-50 participants, €30-100 entry. Additional revenue stream alongside client sessions.

Setup for hypnosis streams — step by step

1. Install OBS Studio from obsproject.com (free).
2. Create scenes: scene 1 "Talking Head", scene 2 "Cockpit + PiP", scene 3 "Full Cockpit", scene 4 "Outro with logo".

4. Configure streaming target: enter YouTube stream key in OBS, select "YouTube — RTMP" server.
5. Test stream: first as "private" or "unlisted" on YouTube, check audio and video, then go live.

Hypnotika OBS mode

Hypnotika has an optional OBS mode (activatable in settings). When active: audio routing is optimised so Hypnotika feeds only music plus phase trigger sounds into the OBS stream — without mic mix. This gives OBS full control over the stream audio mix, useful for live workshops since OBS can also integrate participant audio.

Live streaming platforms compared

• YouTube Live: largest reach, free recording remains available after stream end. Good for authority building, less for paid exclusive workshops.
• Twitch: gaming-focused, unconventional for hypnosis content, but wellness streams are a growing segment.
• Own website with RTMP player: full control, no algorithm, paid-only sessions possible. Setup effort higher.
• Zoom webinar function: easier than OBS, less quality control. OK for pure webinars without streaming effects.

Recording quality: what video, what voiceover

Most important rule: hypnosis videos are about sound, not picture. 1080p is sufficient — no 4K needed. But: 192 kbit/s MP3 or higher for audio. Invest in a good USB microphone, not in an expensive camera.
